Online home goods source Havenly has expanded its stable of brands with the acquisition of furnishings and soft goods company, Burrow. The move marks Havenly’s fifth acquisition in the last two years, prompting the company to rebrand to Havenly Brands.

Burrow, which specializes in modular seating, as well as bedding, rugs and other soft goods, uses consumer data and research to drive its design process. Based in New York City, the company operates brick-and-mortar retail outlets there and in Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles.

“Burrow’s innovative approach to design, in-home furniture delivery and functionality helped reinvent the way people furnish their homes, making it a natural fit for the Havenly family,” said Lee Mayer, CEO of Havenly Brands. “Burrow fills a unique gap in the market and within our portfolio. We are excited to integrate the Burrow team and apply learnings that will enhance the customer experience across all our furniture brands.”

Over the past decade, Havenly has expanded from an online interior design service to a portfolio of home goods brands. In 2022, the company scooped up The Inside, a direct-to-consumer home furnishings brand, with a stable of domestic suppliers that gave Havenly more control over its supply chain. Since then, Havenly has added custom furnishings maker Interior Define, bedding and furnishings brand The Citizenry, and fabric and soft goods company St. Frank to its lineup.

Burrow brings more than 40 patents to Havenly’s product portfolio, including quick-ship, easy-to-assemble modular sofas. Like the other brands Havenly has added over the past few years, Burrow will continue to operate under its own identity within the Havenly umbrella. Stephen Kuhl, co-founder of Burrow, said joining forces with Havenly will allow the brand to expand its reach and product assortment.

“We have admired Havenly for years and are thrilled to finally join forces,” he said. “Lee and I have talked about teaming up since 2019. While there were several potential paths forward, we were drawn to Havenly’s portfolio of best-in-category brands, passion for retail, and strong levers for growth. Havenly’s in-house interior design service and successful retail playbook will help accelerate our growth and provide innovative furniture solutions for even more homes.”
