Little Shop of Hair Do’s is located at 421 Northern Blvd. in South Abington Township.

When you walk into the Little Shop of Hair Do’s you get a comfortable feeling. There are plants, purses and small gifts. The setting invites you to sit, get comfortable and have your hair done. The salon is located at 421 Northern Blvd. in South Abington Township.

“I had worked at other places and was getting a big cliental. I decided to go off on my own. This is a good location,” said owner Lauren Egbert.

She graduated from Empire Beauty School.

The salon offers services for woman and children. These include haircuts, hair coloring and eye lash extensions.

Abby Gaffney does manicures and pedicures at the salon. Madison Deninger is the receptionist.

There are two rooms that are used for eye-lash extensions, eyebrow lifting and tinting and facials.

“I liked the movie ‘Little Shop of Horrors.’ I wanted a fun catchy name that people would remember in naming my business. I thought Little Shop of Do’s was a fun catchy name,” said Egbert.

“I get my hair done once a week. I have curly hair and get it straightened. I also get it cut and colored once a month. Lauren is talented and easy to talk to. I have been going to her since she started doing hair. My daughter Madeline Walsh is 16 also gets her hair done there. We both get our nails done for special occasions. We walk out happy,” said customer Leila Walsh.

Children can get their first hair cut at the salon. The parents get a certificate to mark the occasion.

The salon recently had a child’s birthday party with a Taylor Swift theme. The girls got their hair and nails done and made friendship bracelets. The salon plans to have more children’s birthday parties in 2024.

The salon does weddings of five people or less.

Coffee, water and snacks are complimentary to those getting their hair done.

The salon gives back to the community. During the holiday season, people select a toy from an Amazon wish list, purchase it and bring it to the salon. The toys are donated to the Catherin McAuley Center. This past Christmas 200 hundred toys were collected.

There was also a breast cancer event.

“I enjoy making people pretty and helping the community,” said Egbert.

The salon is open Monday through Sunday by appointment. Call 570-319-1691 to set up an appointment.
