PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Governor Shapiro signed legislation Wednesday aiming to save local pharmacies from going out of business. Since January 1, more than 140 pharmacies in Pennsylvania have shut down, according to proponents of the bill.A KDKA investigation first profiled those struggling pharmacists in March. At issue is the role of pharmacy benefits managers, who are middlemen between the insurance companies and pharmacies.The state legislation signed Wednesday aims to create more transparency in that process. Holy Ghost Parish welcomes new priest
The parish family of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Jessup, recently welcomed Father Timothy and Pani Angela Kennedy to their church. Originally from New Jersey, Father Tim recently completed his studies at the Byzantine Catholic Seminary in Pittsburgh. He holds a Master's in Theology with a concentration in ministerial leadership. He graduated with honors and was ordained by Bishop Kurt Burnette into the priesthood on May 25, 2024. Father Tim was a deacon for 13 years, serving parishes in New Jersey and Florida.

Man Arrested for Indecent Exposure in Mahanoy City
A man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison for an indecent exposure incident in Mahanoy City. According to court papers, David Roberts, 64, with a registered address of Jacksonville, FL, was charged with indecent exposure, open lewdness, and disorderly conduct by Mahanoy City Police Officer Hugh Clinton following an incident on July 14th, 2024.
