Temperatures on the rise into early August
As calmer and cooler weather has stuck around this past week, don’t expect these below average temperatures to continue into next month. July has been a cooler than average month this year but as high pressure out west moves east expect temperatures to climb by the end of July into Early August.

BPD: Intern with minor injuries after squad car hit and run
BELOIT, Wis. (WMTV) - A car crashed into a Beloit Police squad car, causing minor injuries to an intern who was in the squad car Saturday night. According to BPD, an officer was on a traffic stop on Prairie Ave when a passing car crashed into his squad car. The officer was not in the car, but an intern was riding along.
Rockford-area SNAP recipients may qualify for food replacement
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Help may be available for some people in the stateline who had to throw out food due to widespread power outages following severe storms. The Winnebago County Emergency Management Agency says Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP recipients who experienced power outages lasting longer than four hours can request food replacements within 10 days of the event. According to the Illinois Department of Human Services, food bought with SNAP benefits may also be replaced if it was destroyed in a fire, flood, tornado or other devastating event.
