    Elkhart EnviroFest returns with live fish and music and plenty to eat, drink and learn

    ELKHART — The city’s annual EnviroFest returns 3 to 8 p.m. Aug. 10 to downtown’s Island Park with an array of environmental and ecological groups, food and beer, short talks, live fish, and live entertainment.

    Bike Elkhart County will provide free valet parking, bike cleaning and cycling tips for those who pedal to the fest.

    The several food vendors include Carribean chicken, Mexican pizza, Mexican specialties, barbecue, diner food and deep-fried goodies.

    Live wild animals will be shown at 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. The kids entertainment area will include a water slide.

    New this year, a workshop tent will host free talks on building oriole feeders at 4 p.m. and bluebird boxes at 5 p.m., plant care at 3:30 p.m., health of the Elkhart River at 4 and 7 p.m., electric vehicles at 4:30 p.m., tree care at 6 p.m. and solar energy at 6:30 p.m.

    Live music will be performed by Big Daddy Dupree’s Broke & Hungry Blues Band .
