'Unforeseen circumstances' cancels John Glenn, Blackhawk Christian Week 3 football game

The John Glenn High School football team is looking for a new week three opponent on 24 hours notice after its contest with Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian was cancelled.

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, Fort Wayne Blackhawk has cancelled the Varsity Football game on Friday night (9/6/24)," the John Glenn athletic department posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, Thursday morning. "The JGHS Athletic Department is working diligently to find an opponent for Friday Night, and an announcement will be made soon as to the result of our endeavor."

Per John Harrell's Indiana Football website, no other schools have a week three opening currently.

Blackhawk Christian is one of the newest IHSAA football members, with its first season coming last year after playing eight-man football for two years.

If Glenn (1-1) does not find an opponent for Friday, its next game will be Friday, Sept. 13 vs. Jimtown in the first Indiana Northern State Conference contest for both teams.
