    Penn's Scarlett Biever is Northern Indiana Conference girls golf MVP

    Penn High School junior Scarlett Biever and her coach Brian Matthews have named Most Valuable Player and Coach of the Year for Northern Indiana Conference girls golf.

    Biever shot a 79 at the NIC girls golf tournament to help Penn tie Saint Joseph in the tourney before a playoff crowned the Kingsmen the winners.

    Biever is joined on the first-team by teammate, junior Clare Tobin (78)

    Saint Joseph placed two players on the first team — the sister duo of freshman Lucy Dunham (76) and junior Marley Dunham (76). Marian junior Celia Florkowski (79) is also first-team while Katherine Swain of Adams is the only senior on first-team. Swain shot a 75 to garner individual medalist title at the NIC Tournament.

    Soph. Reese Hull (Saint Joseph) 93, jr. Bella Jeffrey (Saint Joseph) 90, jr. Lilly Norris (Penn) 90, jr. Sydney Schmeltz (Saint Joseph) 91, jr. Nina Bauer (Penn) 86.

    Honorable mention

    Soph. Alaina DeMeyer (Penn) 96, jr. Evie McCormick (Elkhart) 88, sr. Kerrigan Evans (New Prairie) 93, jr. Natalie Smith (Elkhart) 102, soph. Madlyn Baugh (Marian) 101.

    NIC dual-meet standings

    n1. Penn 7-0, 2. Saint Joseph 6-1, 3. Marian 5-2, 4. Elkhart 4-3, 5. Adams 3-4, 6. New Prairie 2-5, Riley incomplete team, Washington incomplete team.
