Here is more on each area team that played in regionals.

    At LaPorte

Penn pulled off an incredible comeback, rallying to beat Chesterton, 14-25, 12-25, 25-19, 25-23, 15-11. The fifth set served as a microcosm of the entire match, as the Kingsmen trailed in that set, 8-3, before rallying to win by the 15-11 margin.

Penn once again had a big performance from Shannon Rudge, who had 14 kills and 19 digs. Sarah Noto and Anna McCullough had 11 kills each and Kam Burns added 10 kills as part of a balanced offensive attack. Abbi Gingerich had 27 assists and Carson Petty 18 assists to help facilitate said offense.

The Kingsmen (25-5) now faces Hamilton Southeastern (31-2) in the semistate semifinals. They'll play the second game at noon ET at Huntington North High School. The Royals are the two-time defending 4A state champions. The other two teams in the semistate, Crown Point (28-6) and Fort Wayne Carroll (30-3), will play at 10 a.m. ET. The championship will be at 7 p.m.

    At NorthWood

Host NorthWood got past New Prairie, 25-17, 30-32, 25-17, 25-19 to win a Class 3A regional crown. It's the third-straight regional championship the Panthers have won, improving their record to 29-6 in the process. New Prairie ends with a 23-12 mark.

With 53 assists in the match, Emily Uhlmann set a new single season NorthWood program record for assists with 1,088. Claire Payne had 15 kills and four blocks, Sophie Barber eight service aces and Anna Roeder 16 digs to lead in those respective categories for the Panthers. Chloe Deckard had 39 assists and Jenna Kelly 10 kills to pace New Prairie.

NorthWood draws New Castle (25-9) in its semistate semifinal contest. They will play close to home, with the semistate being at Plymouth. The Panthers and Trojans play at noon, with Angola (30-4) facing Hammond Bishop Noll (33-3) at 10 a.m. The championship match is set for 7:30 p.m.

Neither NorthWood or Angola have won a semistate championship before, while Noll won one in 2013 and New Castle three in a row from 2017-19.

    At Culver Community

Jimtown kept its historic season going by beating Boone Grove, 28-26, 25-18, 25-14 to win its first regional championship in program history. This, after winning its first ever sectional crown last weekend.

The Jimmies (15-16) will travel to Delta High School for its semistate. They will face Woodlan (22-9) in the 10 a.m. semifinal match. The other semifinal contest, scheduled for noon, features unbeaten Southwood (33-0) facing Western Boone (23-5). The championship will be played at 7 p.m.

In the Class 1A bracket at Culver, the host school beat Marquette Catholic, 24-26, 19-25, 26-16, 26-24, 15-13 for that championship.
