On top of losing two vessels, and temporarily a third, in one day on our Anacortes/San Juan Islands route to mechanical issues, we’ve seen an increase in crewing cancellations due to health-related relief requests and vacation leave. This temporary setback is difficult to digest, especially since we recently had our first week with no canceled sailings due to crewing since the pandemic began.

The Pioneer Fire in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest has now expanded to 25,688 acres, 14% contained. Firefighters have been working diligently to protect the community of Stehekin through strategic firing operations. Starbucks announces permanent closure of Alki store, customers start petition
SEATTLE — Starbucks has announced the permanent closure of its Alki store which has caused some customers to start a petition trying to save it. Owner of Former Lusty Lady Building Purchases 27-Unit Marketside Flats in Seattle for $10.2MM
Another multifamily community in Seattle has traded hands recently. Marketside Flats, a 27-unit apartment building, was purchased for $10.2 million, or approximately $377,777 per unit, according to King County public records. A report from the Puget Sound Business Journal shows that the buyer was entrepreneur Andrew Conru, who also owns the former Lusty Lady building on Post Alley, which sits nearby. The seller was an entity affiliated with Mack Real Estate Group.
Goodman Real Estate Sells 155-Unit Astral Apartments in Kent for $36.6MM
A Kent multifamily community traded hands recently in a deal that shows investors continue to be attracted to the city’s offerings. The property, known as Astral Apartments, was sold by an entity affiliated with Goodman Real Estate for $36.6 million, or about $236,129 per unit, according to King County public records. The buyer was an entity affiliated with 6329 Magnolia Apartments LLC, based in Bellevue.
