Northern official makes Becker's Review's 'CEOs to Know'

CHICAGO — Becker’s Hospital Review recently named Chris A. Lumsden, president & CEO of Northern Regional Hospital, as a recipient of the 2024 Community Hospital CEOs to Know award.

“This accolade recognizes Mr. Lumsden for his exceptional leadership and profound impact on community healthcare,” the organization said.

With more than 40 years of service in healthcare administration, Lumsden “has exemplified visionary leadership and dedication to advancing patient care and operational excellencem,” according to the local hospital.

Before assuming his role at Northern Regional Hospital, Lumsden served as president & CEO of Halifax Regional Health System in South Boston, Virginia. He is recognized as a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds a license as a nursing home administrator.

In addition to this recent honor, Chris A. Lumsden was also recognized as one of the recipients of the 2020 C-Suite Awards — Most Admired CEOs by the Triad Business Journal.

The “Community Hospital CEOs to Know” list by Becker’s Hospital Review acknowledges CEOs who “demonstrate exemplary commitment to improving community health, fostering workforce culture, and ensuring customer satisfaction,” according to the agency. “The selection process involves rigorous nomination and review, ensuring that awardees represent the pinnacle of leadership in community healthcare.”
