Brad Moening, the longtime cross-country coach for Highland Park High School, will be inducted into the Minnesota Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame during a coaches clinic on August 5 at the Grand Event Center in Northfield. Moening has coached boys’ and girls’ cross-country at Highland for 22 years. During that time, the Scots have won nine Saint Paul City Conference titles and made four team appearances at state, taking third in both 2019 and 2021. The Highland girls have won 15 conference titles, including the last 12 in a row, and have made four trips to state, including finishing first in 2021 and 2022, and second in 2023. Moening also has won numerous awards as coach of Highland’s Nordic ski teams. He plans to continue coaching cross-country this fall, but is turning over the reins of the school’s Nordic ski program to former Highland student Will Robertson.

ROSELLE PARK, NJ — The Borough of Roselle Park has announced that there was a sanitary sewer collapse at the intersection of East Grant Avenue last Wednesday. Consequently, traffic west of Galloping Hill Road was shut down while crews began emergency repairs. Union County Connects Unveil Brand New Mural in Roselle Park
ROSELLE PARK, NJ — The borough grew a little brighter recently, as Union County Connects, a 501(c)(3) charity that advocates for safer trail networks in Union County, unveiled a brand-new mural featuring a historical rendition of the Rahway Valley Railroad Engines. Painted on the Son-Rise Document Solutions building at the outskirts of the borough, the mural welcomes travelers into Roselle Park. The mural was created by a Jersey City-based street artist, known as "Distort", who has composed many murals throughout New Jersey. Morristown, NJ – Over 290,000 in scholarships have been awarded to 27 Morristown High School seniors to support their academic pursuits, announced the Morris Educational Foundation (MEF). The MEF, a non-profit organization enhancing excellence in education in the Morris School District for over 31 years, honored the deserving students during the high school’s scholarship award night on June 11. Two Tractor-Trailers Crash and Catch Fire in on NJ Turnpike in Monroe Township
MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ (MIDDLESEX)–New Jersey State Police, Sgt. Charles Marchan, told MidJersey.news that Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash at 12:47 a.m. on the New Jersey Turnpike North, milepost 73, Monroe, Middlesex County, Saturday July 20, 2024. Based on a preliminary investigation, two tractor-trailers were traveling north when they were involved in a collision. After the collision, one of the tractors began to catch on fire. No injuries were reported on scene. The crash remains under investigation, and there is no additional information available.

As discussed in prior meetings, the Colony Pool side walls are crumbling and in need of replacement. The Committee requested the Township Engineer develop plans. A draft plan was circulated to the Committee last week, with updated plans provided today. Those plans will be discussed tonight so that we can move forward with the bid process and toward having the work completed in the fall. No decisions have been made at this time. This is a discussion to find the right answer for our community and our Colony members. Mercer County Parks Hosts “Trenton Talks Basketball Tournament”, Drawing Over 250 Residents
Mercer County Park hosted the first Trenton Talks Basketball Tournament, with a portion of all proceeds going to benefit Trenton’s A Better Way foundation. The tournament brought out over 250 residents from Trenton and surrounding communities. 12 basketball teams competed for top honors. There was also a double-dutch jump rope contest, judged by Skil-Lit Café Owners Robert Wilborn and Dionna Maldonado.
Buckingham warehouse plans come before supervisors amid mounting criticism
A highly contested proposal for a 150,000-square-foot warehouse in Buckingham is expected to go before the township supervisors Wednesday. Preliminary land development plans, submitted by developer J.G. Petrucci Company, of Asbury, New Jersey, outline the redevelopment of the DiGirolamo Tract for a warehouse with 30 truck bays, two parking areas, an access drive for trucks at Stony Lane and another driveway for employees off Progress Meadow Drive.
