Cops say son found his murdered mom at home in Edison, NJ
EDISON — A 37-year-old township man has been accused of stabbing a woman to death in her home on Sunday, where her son made the gruesome discovery. Joan Franklin Polanco was charged with first-degree murder, in connection with the death of 37-year-old Edison resident Lizbeth Benitez-Rivera, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone announced.

A man who ran a fake medical practice out of his apartment and sexually assaulted two of his patients has been sentenced to prison. Orger Sibaja-Bolanos, 67, of Old Bridge, was sentenced to 10 years state prison earlier this month, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release on Tuesday. His wife, who helped him run the phony practice, was sentenced to three years probation with the condition that she will serve 364 days in county jail at the end of her probation.
