A Walmart shopper has criticized the chain's customer service due to staffing issues that caused chaos at a specific department.

Expressing her frustration, Bonnie, who is known as @sooperbaddd on X, described her experience of enduring a significant wait at customer service with only one staff member.

"Having only ONE person at customer service at a store as big as @ Walmart is crazy work," she wrote. "Line be 65 people long and you wait 12 hours to return a pillow."

In response to Bonnie's complaint, Walmart Help replied, "That doesn't sound right, Bonnie," and offered to investigate the matter further if she contacted them privately via direct message, per the U.S. Sun.

While there have been no further updates, Bonnie is not alone in facing issues at Walmart.

Another shopper from Easley, South Carolina, expressed dissatisfaction with the checkout procedures at her local store, criticizing the new self-checkout systems and insufficient staffing.

"I just want to say that the Walmart in Easley is getting out of hand!!" the customer wrote on Facebook. "Self-checkout is for 15 items or less, but they only have 2 people doing regular checkout! Walmart if we can’t do self-checkout, you better load up the registers with employees!"

Further detailing her frustrating shopping experience on Facebook, the same shopper shared that she had to bag her items herself after waiting for 30 minutes at the checkout.

"So not only did I have to wait 30 minutes I HAD TO BAG MY OWN STUFF! and I didn’t get paid to do it," she mentioned.

A commenter responded to her post saying, "Walmart has forgotten what customer service is."

The dire situation with self-checkouts at some Walmart stores prompted another shopper to leave and seek assistance elsewhere.

"Is this our world now?" the shopper questioned after encountering long lines and no open checkouts.
