Jefferson Road reopens after gas leak in Kanawha County

UPDATE: (12:27 p.m. Wednesday, July 2024) – Kanawha County Metro 911 and the City of South Charleston say Jefferson Road has reopened after a gas leak.

KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — A gas leak has shut down Jefferson Road from Kanawha Turnpike to Corridor G, according to Metro 911.

Dispatchers say construction crews hit a gas line. This has shut down the north and southbound lanes of Jefferson Road, according to the WV511 map.

The road will be shut down for an undetermined amount of time, according to Metro 911.
