Fall is spring in South Florida, a time of renewal and revitalization, when the fruit of labor is ready to be picked. So this weekend, we’ll see Smorgasburg Miami returning after renovations and Boatyard in Fort Lauderdale also reopening to show off a glam new look. (To answer your next question: It looks like The Wharf in Fort Lauderdale will be coming back within the next 30 days.)

Also new: Fort Lauderdale United FC, the women’s professional soccer team, which will play its first home game on Sunday surrounded by kid-friendly activities. Speaking of sports, the Florida Panthers are about to start a new season and their defense of the Stanley Cup, and on Saturday the team will sneak in a preseason game with ticket prices that are much easier on the family budget.

If you’ve looked out the window lately, you know that rain and wind may force changes to local events, so check before you go.
