Shawnee man burned by lightning strike; authorities caution safety during storms
SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) - A man was taken to the hospital on Saturday after he was struck by lightning. According to Johnson County MED-ACT, the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on July 27 in the 7200 block of McCormick Drive. Shawnee police and fire responded to the scene as well.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Regional Medical Foundation (HRMF) announces its launch of a housing program that encourages providers to live in the community they serve. At the end of HRMF’s fiscal year, a budget of $750,000 was solidified to support this new program and initiative, which focuses on a three-year commitment from the provider in exchange for a housing incentive to purchase a home in Reno County.
