Target has been changing some of its store locations, which could affect your area.

The retailer closed several locations in recent months due to a drop in foot traffic or an increase in crime, but it recently announced that it will be opening new spots.

Will you soon have a new Target where you can use your best cash back credit card ? Check out this list to see where Target will be opening its new locations.

    1. Arizona

    • Surprise
    • Queen Creek

California saw three Target locations close in 2023, with all three in the San Francisco area. However, three of the four new locations will be around the Los Angeles area of southern California, with only one — South Lake Tahoe — being in northern California.

    3. Connecticut

    • Norwalk

Target has locations in 20 different cities and towns in Connecticut, but this will be the first location in Norwalk.

The 148,000-square-foot location will be only Target's fifth in Delaware. The retailer also has locations in Dover, Newark, and two in Wilmington.

    5. Florida

    • Bradenton Beach
    • Bradenton Heritage Harbour
    • Lecanto
    • Miami Beach North
    • Miami Downtown
    • Trailwinds Village
    • Wesley Chapel Grove

Florida’s seven locations give it the most new stores of any state. The two Miami locations will join the nine Target stores already in the city.

    6. Hawaii

    • Oahu Waikiki

Target's only new location in Hawaii will be in Oahu. The 78,800-square-foot store will be the only location in Oahu, although the retailer has stores in eight other cities on the islands.

    10. North Carolina

    • Fuquay-Varina
    • Myrtle Grove
    • Selma

North Carolina’s recent popularity growth may be a contributing factor in the new Target stores in the Tar Heel State. All four stores are at least 130,000 square feet.

    11. Nebraska

    • Grand Island

This is the first location in Grand Island, so take a trip to the new modern-day Target before seeing the Stuhr Museum in the city, which puts a spotlight on the past.

    12. New Jersey

    • Flemington

Flemington Marketplace will be getting a new Target location that will include a CVS Pharmacy and a Starbucks. You can also hop off the Garden State Parkway around the Jon Bon Jovi Service Area to get to a new Target location on Route 9 in Old Bridge, the first Target location in the city that opened in April.

    13. New York

    • Chelsea (23rd and 8th)

    14. Pennsylvania

    • Doylestown
    • West Chester

Both Doylestown and West Chester are new cities for Target to move into. Expect the West Chester location to be the larger of the two, with 120,000 square feet of space, while Doylestown will only have 74,500 square feet.

    15. South Carolina

    • Boiling Springs
    • Indian Land

Boiling Springs and Indian Land will each get their first Target location, joining 16 other cities in the state with a Target store.

    16. Tennessee

    • Sevierville

Sevierville will add 147,000 square feet of Target retail space to the state of Tennessee. Last year, the city welcomed a Buc-ee’s, so it may be a good idea to stop and get some beaver nuggets before going on a Target shopping trip.

    17. Texas

    • Dallas (Wynnewood Village)
    • Denton
    • Fort Worth
    • Portland Northshore

The newest Dallas location will be the ninth Target store to open in that city. Portland, however, will be welcoming its first Target location.

    18. Utah

    • Logan

Residents of logan will no longer have to drive 51 miles away to go to a Target as a new store will be opening. A 135,000-square-foot location in Provo also opened in April and is the second Target store in the city south of Salt Lake City. Brigham Young University is located in the city.

    Bottom line

Target is a great place if you’re trying to save money, but there are also other ways to help you save money shopping there.

Check out the Target app, which can help you earn rewards and discover discounts on your purchases. You can also get a Target credit card and save an additional 5% on your purchases.
