Two men were injured in an experimental aircraft after it crashed during takeoff near the Reigle Airport, the South Londonderry Township Police Department said Friday.

The pilot told police that the plane, identified as a Kitfox Speeder, was beginning to take off from the 1805 South Forge Road airport when it suddenly veered to the left around 2:44 p.m. Friday afternoon. The FAA arrived on scene and will be working with the NTSB on the investigation.

The pilot had minor injuries and the passenger had moderate injuries. Police in a release identified the two individuals involved as a 68-year-old Lewisberry man and an 80-year-old man.

Both men were transported to the Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center for evaluation.
