The National Weather Service issued an updated flash flood warning at 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday in effect until Thursday at 1 a.m. for Broome and Chenango counties. "At 11:50 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," comments the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."

Sidney Woman Pleads Guilty to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
The Delaware County District Attorney says a Sidney woman has pleaded guilty to two counts of a drug charge nearly two years after she was accused of selling meth in Sidney. Nikita M. Kingsbury pleaded guilty to two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree with Intent to Sell. In July 2023, she was indicted on allegations that she sold meth in Sidney in August 2022. She was arrested shortly afterward and released on her own recognizance while the case was pending.
