    SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ  - Verizon Wireless has decided to withdraw its application to build a cell tower in South Plainfield. The proposed tower had been a subject of considerable debate within the community, with many residents expressing concerns about potential health risks, aesthetic impacts, and property values.

    The application, initially submitted in October 2023, aimed to address coverage gaps in the area.

    The withdrawal marks a significant victory for the residents who campaigned against the cell tower.
