New dock nears completion in Greenup County, Ky.
GREENUP, Ky. (WSAZ) - Greenup County’s new fishing dock at Little Sandy Boat Ramp is near completion. The renovation project at the Little Sandy Boat Ramp started years ago. After dredging efforts, the water is not muddy and shallow -- allowing emergency personnel and boaters to use it to access the water.
Portsmouth attorney graduates from 2024 Ohio State Bar Association Leadership Academy
On Thursday, June 20, Portsmouth attorney Jesse Scott was among 26 Ohio attorneys to graduate from the Ohio State Bar Association’s 2024 Leadership Academy. The Ohio Bar Leadership Academy is designed to nurture and prepare lawyers for effective leadership in the association, the legal profession and their communities. The interactive training program takes place across a six-month period in six sessions during which participants interact with bar leaders and other professionals, learning about topics such as civility, ethics and professionalism.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The humidity continues to hang around the Tri-State this morning, allowing for patchy fog and an isolated shower. Stuffy clouds will allow some episodes of sunshine on the day, moving temperatures from around 70° at sunrise to the mid-80s this afternoon. The Heat Index will creep into the 90s given the humidity, but a few storms will pop to give some a break. More folks than not will get a dry afternoon, but it’s going to take until tomorrow before we really start to feel like things are improving. The timing is right though, as our best weather of the week kicks off our weekend.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Bob Marcum, who served as athletic director at Kansas, South Carolina, UMass and Marshall, has died a few days after suffering a stroke. He was 87. South Carolina, UMass and Marshall’s athletic departments all announced Marcum’s death Wednesday, a day after he died. Arkansas coach John Calipari, who worked under Marcum at Massachusetts, posted on social media Sunday that Marcum was hospitalized after complications from a stroke. C alipari posted about Marcum’s death Tuesday, saying the two spent time together in the hospital. “We talked about our time together at UMass, he as AD and me his coach,” Calipari wrote. “We laughed cried and prayed.”
