Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA offering adult swim lessons

SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KCAU) — According to the CDC, 4,500 hundred adults die from drowning each year. The Red Cross says more then half of all Americans either can’t swim or don’t have the basic swimming skills.

While it maybe an embarrassing subject to bring up for some, it could also save your life. The Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA in South Sioux City is offering swim lessons for adults to help you out before taking a dip into a body of water.

“Most of our adult lessons are private.” swimming instructor Sophia Johnson said. “We offer a variety of lessons for adults who can start from anywhere from not being comfortable in the water at all to wanting to develop their technique more.”
