Lake Gaston Striper Club to hold August meeting
The Lake Gaston Striper Club will hold its August monthly meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Lake Gaston Lions Club building at 139 Stanley Road, Henrico. The speaker will be Kevin Johnson, owner of Eagle 1 (Raleigh) and Eagle 2 (Lake Gaston) shooting ranges. He will discuss current gun and concealed carry laws. RR man charged with computer solicitation of minor
A 29-year-old Roanoke Rapids man Wednesday was charged with a count of solicitation of a minor by computer following an investigation that began in April. Major Anzell M. Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said the criminal investigations division received a report on April 15 about a man, later identified as Taylor Scott Harris, contacting a female juvenile for sexual favors.
Will Elon Musk speak at the Republican National Convention Thursday night in Milwaukee?
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and X, has made some big moves supporting former president Donald Trump in the past week. On Saturday, less than an hour after the attempted assassination of Trump, Musk posted on X that he "fully" endorses Trump's presidential campaign. A few days later, Musk reportedly committed to donating $45 million a month to a political action committee backing Trump's reelection, according to the Wall Street Journal.
