23-Year-Old Hyannis Man and 34-Year-Old Cotuit Man Arrested On Kidnapping, Firearms, and Assault Charges.
HYANNIS – Barnstable Police report that at approximately 7:00 AM on Thursday July 25, 2024, officers were dispatched to Quaker Road Hyannis for a subject who was suffering from apparent stab wounds. Upon investigation by Barnstable Patrol Officers and Detectives it was determined that the 49-year-old victim had been held against his will and assaulted in a house on Quaker Road. He reported that two individuals, known to him as 23-year-old Eric Randall of Hyannis and 34-year-old Richard Villa of Cotuit had assaulted him inside the home. The victim told investigators that Randall and Villa had trapped him within the home, choked him with a belt, held him at gunpoint, and eventually stabbed him with a knife. The subjects threatened the victim’s life throughout the incident. The victim was eventually able to flee the scene and have a neighbor call 911. The victim was treated at a local hospital for the non-life-threatening injuries. Villa was located in the area a short time later and taken into custody without incident. Randall was located later in the afternoon, however when approached he attempted to flee. After a brief foot pursuit, he was taken into custody by Barnstable Patrol Officers, Detectives, as well as members of the DEA Cape Cod Resident Office. Investigators seized a knife and a loaded 9mm “ghost” gun in connection with this incident.

Two teens have been arrested for allegedly robbing a 9-year-old boy of his cellphone at gunpoint in Boston Thursday, police say. The young boy was at Children’s Park at the corner of Intervale and Fernboro Street waiting for a cookout around 6:30 p.m. when two 15-year-olds approached him and took his cell phone at gunpoint, Essex County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said. The two 15-year-old teens were charged with armed robbery and threat to commit a crime in West Roxbury Juvenile Court on Friday. “Being robbed at gunpoint is a terrifying experience for anyone. But the age of the victim here, and the ages of the charged juveniles, adds an extra layer of shock and heartbreak. I commend this young boy and the adults present for providing the information that led to the arrest,” Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said.

Longtime Adams Village restauranteur mourned after sudden death
Kenny Blasi, the co-owner and proprietor of the popular Adams Village eatery Blasi's Kitchen and Bar, died on Wednesday, July 24 after suffering a heart attack. The Dorchester native leaves behind his wife Maria and their four children, along with many other relatives and friends. He will be waked next Monday, July 29, 4-8 p.m. at John J. O’Connor & Son Funeral Home in Adams Village. His funeral is set for Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Church in South Boston.
Car Crashes Into Oak Bluffs Home
A person was taken into police custody early Friday morning after a car ran into a home on Samoset avenue in Oak Bluffs.
