WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) - A local fall favorite is gearing up for sweater season as it announces the start of its upcoming season. Edwards Apple Orchard West, 8218 Cemetery Rd. in Winnebago, will open for the season Friday, Aug. 23. The orchard made the announcement Friday on social media.

A 32-year-old woman in critical condition is being treated at Stroger Hospital on Sunday afternoon.She is the only survivor from the vehicle she was traveling in when a hit-and-run driver crashed into her and her two companions on the city's West Side early Sunday morning.
