SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — South Windsor police say a suspect has been charged for allegedly conspiring to hit a car so they could steal it.

Yanassis A. Ruiz, 24, of Greenfield, Massachusetts, was charged Tuesday on an active arrest warrant for conspiracy to commit larceny with a motor vehicle and second-degree failure to appear.

The charges stem from an incident last April, during which police said she conspired with two others to intentionally strike a vehicle on Route 5, causing the driver to step out so they could steal the car.

Ruiz was extradited from Massachusetts. She’s being held on a $25,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on July 3.
