A Bristol man was charged with DUI last week after police in South Windsor responded to the report of an intoxicated couple in a local skate park.

Officers responded to the South Windsor Community Center parking lot last Friday just after 8 p.m. and located the couple in a vehicle, according to the South Windsor Police Department . Police pulled the car over before it could reach the road.

Police said the driver, 54-year-old Donald P. Johnson, was believed to be under the influence. He failed multiple field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. He was charged with operating under the influence.

Police said Johnson was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on July 15.
