Man injured after truck crashes into church
A man was injured after the pickup truck he was driving ran off the road and crashed into a church in Great Mills early Saturday. Patrol units from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Point Lookout Road in Great Mills at approximately 1:36 a.m. on Saturday, April 6. Scientists offer advice on how to prepare for rare solar eclipse
A total solar eclipse is set to cover part of the United States on Monday, April 8. Southern Marylanders will be able to experience a partial eclipse with the moon covering 90% of the sun. Jury convicts man of murder for 2022 slaying in Great Mills
A Lexington Park man was found guilty earlier this week for the slaying of a 33-year-old St. Mary’s man that occurred two years ago. Leadership at altitude: Top enlisted service member visits 459th Wing
The 459th Air Refueling Wing hosted the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black, for an air refueling orientation flight on March 19. The flight offered Black a firsthand experience of the 459th Air Refueling Wing’s mission, providing a comprehensive view of aerial refueling operations critical to U.S. military efforts. It featured eight F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft from the 112th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, Ohio Air National Guard, refueling from a KC-135 Stratotanker from the 756th Air Refueling Squadron, Joint Base Andrews, Md., underscoring the importance of interoperability and collaboration across different units and geographical locations. After the flight, Black spoke with Airmen from the 459th Air Refueling Wing, where he offered advice about their professional development, their role in the Joint Force and the importance of preparing as a warfighter.
