Cheapism searched around the U.S. for the best small towns to visit in the country, compiling a list of the "cute small towns [that] represent much of what is great about each state or region, just on a smaller scale than larger cities — and typically at a lower price."

Among the list, which includes stunning destinations like seaside towns in Florida and locales in the heart of "bourbon country" in Kentucky, is one town in North Carolina . Southern Pines was named one of the best smaller towns to visit in the country, earning praise for as being a "golfers' paradise" and its "quaint" downtown area. The site also suggests checking out The Sunrise Theater which has been "entertaining locals with movies and live entertainment since the 1940s."
