SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Two juvenile boys are facing several charges after breaking into vehicles in Southington.

People initially reported at 5:30 a.m. Friday that the boys were breaking into vehicles on Laning Street, according to police. Their ages have not been specified.

Four vehicles were either broken into, or there was an attempt to get into them. One vehicle had a smashed window.

The boys then took off when they knew police were in the area. One was apprehended running away, and the other was found hiding in the woods.

Both juveniles have been charged with two counts each of criminal attempt at third-degree burglary and third-degree burglary, and one counts of interfering with an officer. One juvenile is facing an additional charge of possession of burglar tools.
