I always enjoy a good beer festival, it's a great way to try a bunch of beers and find what you like, without the commitment of buying a 6-pack. You can try a taster, and if you don't like it, you can move on. I'm not even a huge fan of beer, but from attending local beer festivals, I've enjoyed trying different kinds, and to my surprise, I've actually found a few beers I like!

Some indications that a craft beer festival is special: 1) You have to enter a lottery to get a ticket, 2) You have to enter a lottery for your brewery to be at the event, 3) 6000 people come from the majority of US states to taste beers from 195 breweries, 4) There are dozens of events all around town on the eve of the festival, 5) it takes place in a the rolling hills of a park that overlooks a huge lake in the middle of a vibrant downtown, and 6) it is run completely by volunteers and supports several charities.

New Wild Eggs restaurant opens in Avon
AVON, Ind. — A new restaurant is open in Avon. Wild Eggs, a contemporary breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant chain, has opened its new location at 9769 E. U.S. 36. The location previously served as the site of a Jack in the Box, which closed in 2017. The Jack in the Box building was razed and a new multi-unit commercial space was built in its place. Wild Eggs will occupy the space previously held by a Denny's that closed in 2023.
