High temperatures in Reno-Sparks will drop into the 80s on Saturday before ticking back up at the end of the weekend as smoke from California wildfires heads toward the area.

Smoke from California and northern Washoe County wildfires is currently heading toward northwestern Nevada but could drift toward Reno later this weekend, according to Reno NWS.

    Reno-Sparks weekend outlook

The Truckee Meadows will dip down to 88 degrees on Saturday with wind gusts kicking up to 25 mph.

Winds will remain the same on Sunday with high temps rolling back into the low 90s.

High temps will hit 91 degrees on Monday and Tuesday with winds clearing out.

    California and Washoe wildfires

Smoke from the Park Fire near Chico, burning on 164,286 acres as of Friday morning, and the 6,000-acre Stockade Canyon Fire in northern Washoe County could drift toward Reno by Sunday morning, Reno NWS said.

The Park Fire was 0% contained as of Friday.

According to data from AirNow.gov, air quality is forecast to hit the moderate level on Saturday, which means air quality is acceptable, but some groups may be affected, particularly people unusually sensitive to air pollution.
