Shark encounters are rare, but you can protect yourself
There have been several shark bites the last several weeks up and down the Atlantic coast. It includes a 14-year-old boy getting bitten in late June at North Topsail Beach. In Florida, an Ohio man was bitten on the foot on July 4 while playing football in knee-deep water at New Smyrna Beach in Florida. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
