Police: Duo stole 280 iPhones worth $117K in NJ smash and grab
A Passaic man has been accused of helping steal a massive amount of iPhones from an Essex County wholesale electronics store three months ago. On April 18 around 2:24 a.m., Fairfield police were sent to investigate an alarm going off at United Tower Associates, which also operates as Digital World Shop, along Bloomfield Avenue.

Chatham Township enjoys Float Day poolside fun
CHATHAM TWP. – Two large fire trucks welcomed residents to Colony Pool, 55 School Ave. as the pool held its seasonal Float Day on Sunday, July 21. The Chatham Township Fire Department held a meet and greet for the attendees of Float Day and received massive support. Floats are normally prohibited at Colony Pool except when otherwise specified, such as for Float Day.

During the period between July 15, 2024, through July 21, 2024, members of the GRPD handled 360 calls for service, the highlights of which included:. 07-15-2024 - 8:03 AM – The Glen Rock Police Department, just prior to 8:00 AM, began to receive reports from a resident as well as a DPW work crew about purses and other personal belongings that were dumped in the roadway on Highland Road and Fairmont Avenue. In responding and retrieving the items, P.O. Andrew Magro determined that they belonged to a resident on the 100 block of Pinelynn Road. Upon interviewing the resident, it was discovered that their black 2019 Audi Q7 had been stolen from their driveway. The resident was not previously aware of this.

Driver killed in 4-vehicle crash while fleeing police in Essex County
The driver of a vehicle being pursued by police in Essex County on Tuesday was killed in a crash with two other vehicles and an ambulance in East Orange, authorities said. Chatham Township Environmental Commission receives grant to restore native tree grove
CHATHAM TWP. - The Environmental Commission received a $1,500 grant to restore a native tree grove at Shunpike Park on Wednesday, July 17. The grant, issued by the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions. will help revitalize the grove adjacent to Castle Playground at the park. These trees are healthy, but due to water runoff and unintended foot traffic, the roots have been exposed and the trees’ understories have been lost, thus making it easier for the land to erode.
