N.J. man sentenced to prison in 114 mph fatal Parkway crash
A man has been sentenced to state prison in a 114 mph crash on the Garden State Parkway that took the life of another driver. Rolando Godwin, 47, of Newark, received a 12-year sentence on Friday, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said in a news release. He pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter earlier this year.

West Orange Receives Largest Safe Routes to School Grant in Essex County
WEST ORANGE, NJ -- The Murphy Administration announced on July 10 that $21.1 million for 23 grants under the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program has been awarded. West Orange received $966,000, which was the largest grant awarded under the SRTS in Essex County. Infrastructure improvements funded through this program in West Orange will include pedestrian improvements such as sidewalks, high visibility crosswalks, ADA curb ramps, LED stop signs and flashing beacons along Gregory Avenue (CR 571) and Lowell Avenue.
