CHATHAM, NJ -- After a year of maladies that kept him from competing in cross-country and track for most of his junior year, Finn Valli decided to get an early start on the 2024 cross-country season. Family Safe After House Destroyed By Fire
The Bermeo family is safe but their home at 216 Claremont Avenue will require significant repair after a fire broke out there Saturday evening. The fire broke out a little after 10 p.m., just as Marcos Bermeo and his son Zach were returning from the Jersey shore. Zach, a Verona High School student, called 911 while he grabbed the family dog. The Bermeo’s oldest child, Abigail, was away working in Ohio for Sen. Sherrod Brown’s election campaign and their middle child, Aidan, had gone back to college at Clemson University last week.
