Sex offender arrested after failing to register in Spartanburg, South Carolina, deputies say
SPARTANBURG COUNTY, South Carolina — The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office has arrested a sex offender for not registering as required by law. Rudolph Wiley Lindsey, Jr., 54, is a convicted sex offender, originally convicted of committing or attempting to commit a lewd act with a minor in Charleston, South Carolina, in August of 2007. Lindsey's last confirmed registration was in Union County on May 31, 2016. Lindsey reported to authorities that he was moving to North Carolina but never registered there. North Carolina filed charges against him for failure to register in 2016, and he was picked up on a fugitive from justice warrant in Spartanburg County on Feb. 25, 2021.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Logan Jolly, who is from Spartanburg County, was in Eugene, Oregon, to compete in the Olympic trials for the 3,000 meter Steeplechase. Jolly qualified for the finals on Monday and needs to finish in the top three on Thursday to compete at the Olympics in Paris next month.
