    There are so many things to do for a fun weekend, from live performances to festivals, community gatherings, farmer's markets, quilt shows, and more.

    Main Street Fridays

    There's no better way to kick off your weekend in Greenville than by attending Main Street Fridays.

    This weekly music series on Main Street at NOMA Square opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 9:30 p.m., with bands playing two sets at 5:50 p.m. and 7:40 p.m.

    Enjoy live entertainment and dance with fellow community members.

    Colombian Cultural Festival

    Are you a fan of Colombian culture or just looking for something fun to do this weekend? Consider checking out the 2024 Colombian Cultural Festival in Easley.

    The festival will take place this weekend, Sunday, July 21, from noon to 11 p.m. in District Park at 148 Crumpton Lane.

    The event will feature live entertainment, a parade of costumes, folk dances, foods from various countries, crafts, games for children, and an exhibition of businesses and community entities.

    Children 10 years and under get free entry. Pre-sale general admission is $35.

    TD Farmers Market

    Have you ever visited the Greenville Farmers Market on Main Street on McBee Avenue in Greenville? Here, customers can stock up on local produce, treats, and home-grown flowers and plants.

    The market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon from May through October.

    Jodeci live performance

    Music enthusiasts, you don't want to miss out on Jodeci's live concert at the Peace Center, 300 S. Main St., starting at 8 p.m. Friday, July 19.

    They will be performing iconic R&B hits such as "Forever My Lady," "Cry For You," "Lately,

    This is a rare opportunity to experience the legendary group's soulful melodies in person.

    Jodeci, featuring K-Ci, DeVante Swing, JoJo, and Mr. Dalvin, is one of the most influential R&B groups in the music industry. They have sold over 20 million records worldwide and achieved three No. 1 albums on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart.

    In 2023, Jodeci headlined their highly anticipated Summer Block Party Tour, selling out shows from coast to coast and being joined by SWV and Dru Hill.

    Quilts of Valor Display

    Give honor and thanks by attending the Quilts of Valor Display at the Upcountry History Museum this weekend.

    The Quilts of Valor display will be held at the Upcountry History Museum, 540 Buncombe St., from Friday, July 19, through Sunday, July 21.

    Ten Quilts of Valor will be given to local veterans or active-duty service members. Two special ceremonies will be held on Saturday, July 20, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to award 10 local veterans their Quilts of Valor.

    Since it was founded, the Quilts of Valor organization has awarded nearly 400,000 quilts to veterans in all 50 states.

    South Carolina leads the nation in the number of quilts awarded each year, a remarkable feat considering it takes an average of 40-50 hours to create one quilt.

    Volunteers in each state dedicate and donate time, materials, and skills to making these quilts. The quilts must meet specific requirements of the Quilt of Valor Foundation to be called a Quilt of Valor.

    Music on Main

    Spartanburg residents can ease into the weekend with a family-friendly live performance by Cody Webb.

    Music on Main will take place on Thursday, July 18, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chair and blankets to enjoy an evening of music and community.

    Dinner and a Movie

    Are you looking for a fun date night idea? How about dinner and a movie at Eighteen Hundred Drayton Catering & Event?

    The event will occur at 1802 Drayton Road, Draper Hall in Spartanburg, on Friday, July 19th, at 6:30 p.m., and Moviegoers can watch the movie Jaws.

    Tickets start at $60. A table for two costs $120, a table for four costs $240, and a table for six costs $360. Click here to purchase tickets.

    Kickball game

    If you and your family are looking for a fun-friendly event to attend, consider participating in a day filled with kickball and family activities.

    The free event will occur at the Greater Spartanburg YMCA, 151 Ribault St., on Saturday, July 20, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

    It will feature a kickball contest, full access to the YMCA facility near downtown Spartanburg, kid-friendly activities, and lunch.

    The Spartanburg Young Professionals, Urban League of the Upstate Young Professionals, and United Way of the Piedmont Young Leaders sponsor this event.

    This event will function as an official drop-off location for United Way of the Piedmont's Stuff the Bus school supply drive to give to students in need across our community.

    Kickball teams will be assigned at check-in.

    Paint Party

    Start your weekend in Anderson with a painting party. If you enjoy drawing, painting, or just trying something new, consider attending a painting event sponsored by Daydream Art.

    The Flamingo on the Beach Paint Party will be held at the Fine Arts Center of Easley, 117 S. Pendleton St., on Thursday, July 18, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

    Attendees will paint a flamingo in splashing waves at the beach, set against a breathtaking sunset backdrop.

    Participants can choose from a small or large canvas or a tote bag.

    The cost is $30 for a 16x20 canvas.The cost is $25 for an 11x14 canvas.The cost is $25 for a natural or black cotton tote bag.

    Anderson Area Quilt Show

    Are you a designer, enjoy sewing and knitting, or like to buy handmade products? If so, you should consider attending the Anderson Area Quilt Show.

    The show will take place on Friday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday, July 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Anderson Civic Center, located at 3027 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Anderson. The daily entrance fee is $7.

    Attendees can vote for their favorite quilt and shop from vendors offering handmade items by guild members.

    This event is also a great way to get a head start on Christmas shopping.

    Brunch

    If you're a barbecue fan, visit Southern Soul Catering and BBQ at 415 Riley Road North in Hodges. The restaurant is marking its second anniversary with a unique brunch display.

    They'll have a top-notch omelet station, mimosas, waffles, fruit, breakfast favorites, and live music. It sounds like a fantastic way to indulge in soul food and celebrate.

    Brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
