Oahe Zap Host Spearfish in Lone Series Game
The Oahe Zap will get a lone home game tonight to face rival Spearfish Sasquatch before heading out on the road this weekend for the first time. The Zap went 1-3 over the first series of the season dropping three of four to the Fremont Moo. Tonight, the Zap will face the 0-4 Sasquatch who dropped all four games in the first weekend to the Casper Spuds giving up double digit runs in three of the first four games. After tonight Oahe will head out on the road for the first time all season to face the Hastings Sodbusters in a quick two game set in Hastings starting on Thursday before then traveling to Fremont for a three game series Saturday to Monday.

Aidan Hedderman of Sturgis Brown is now the all-time state leader in the Boys 110m Hurdles. The Scoopers senior finished the 2024 state meet with a time of 13.88, which broke the previous state record set by Talon Maxon (14.15) of Rapid City Central in 2015.

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) -The Post 22 baseball team hosted Sturgis for a doubleheader Tuesday night at Fitzgerald Stadium. The Hardhats busted out the bats in a big way winning both games 15-0. Post 22 returns to action Thursday at the Veterans Classic.
Sturgis man convicted of 11 counts of felony crimes involving children
PIERRE, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - A Sturgis man has been convicted of 11 counts of felony crimes involving five different children, according to Attorney General Marty Jackley. 40-year-old Lance Long was convicted of one count of Second Degree Rape, one count of Third Degree Rape, one count of Fourth Degree Rape, three counts of Aggravated Assault, and five counts of Abuse of or Cruelty to a Minor.
Spearfish, Stevens girls make podium at state track meet
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - West River teams failed to disappoint at this weekend’s state track and field meet in Sioux Falls. On the boys side, Custer places 2nd overall in Class “A”, two points behind Sioux Falls Christian for first. The Rapid City Stevens boys also take silver behind Sioux Falls Lincoln. In Class “A”, on the girls side, Custer takes third. In Class “AA”, Spearfish places second and Stevens takes third.

Across the western South Dakota plains along and north of I-90, a Wind Advisory is in place for the same time frame. Gusts up to 50 mph will be likely at times. This does not include Rapid City or Spearfish.
