Updates, charges in 3 deadly Sioux Falls crashes
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It’s been a deadly few days on the Sioux Falls streets. Crashes have killed four people and sent at least two others to the hospital. It all started Friday afternoon when a 63-year-old man died after he crossed the center line on East 26th Street, crashing into a pole and a tree. An exact cause for the crash is still under investigation.

The Madison Broncos won their 6th game in a row on Sunday, beating the Canova Gang 2-1 in extra innings. Canova opened the scoring with their only run of the game in the 6th inning, coming on a Kendall Gassman RBI single. Ty Jorgenson’s double in the 8th inning scored Heith Williams to tie the game. In the 10th, Dawson Bakker singled to score Peyton Wolf and give the Broncos the lead. Tyler Tappe then locked down the win, retiring Canova in order in the 10th.
Gamecocks Hold off Blue Teal
The Humboldt/Hartford Gamecocks held off the Flandreau Blue Teal for an 11-10 win on Sunday, July 14th. The Blue Teal scored three runs in the bottom of the second and three in the bottom of the third for an early 6-0 lead. The Gamecocks got three runs in the top of the fourth to cut the lead in half, 6-3. Flandreau, however, responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth to go back ahead 9-3. Humboldt/Hartford then chipped away at the lead. They scored two runs in the fifth and another in the sixth to make the score 9-6. The Gamecocks then took the lead, 10-9, with a four-run top of the seventh. They added an insurance run in the ninth to make the score 11-9, which was needed. Flandreau got a run in the bottom of the ninth, but the game-tying run was stranded on base.
