TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A little bit of rain didn’t prevent Topeka ER & Hospital from celebrating their fourth anniversary at the Topeka Zoo Saturday morning. The first 500 guests received free admission to the zoo as a thank you for all of the support the community has given them in the past four years.

Kansas City Current takes on Houston Dash at CPKC Stadium
The NWSL's Olympic break has brought a new competition to spice up the season: the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup. Kansas City Current are preparing to face the Houston Dash in a battle that promises to be intense and full of emotion. This is the kick-off of the group stage of the tournament, which brings together all 14 NWSL teams and the six best Liga MX Femenil teams, divided into five groups. In Group C, in addition to Current and Dash, are Pachuca and Tigres UANL, making this the only group with two Liga MX clubs.

Manhattan Mayhem Volleyball Club wins 15U National Championship
MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) - The 15U Mayhem Girls Volleyball team won a Junior National Championship in Las Vegas earlier this month. The Manhattan Mayhem Volleyball Club’s 15U team participated in The 14-17 Junior National Championships for the third consecutive year. This year was their first time bringing home a National Championship.

CEO of reStart Plans to Renovate Hotel into Homeless Center
The non-profit organization, reStart, is in the process of repurposing a La Quinta hotel in Lenexa, KS into a homeless center. reStart assists individuals at risk of and experiencing homelessness through prevention, straight outreach, and by providing temporary and permanent housing. reStart also provides clinical and unemployment services to unhoused individuals with their goal being to provide an exit from homelessness. reStart CEO, Stephanie Boyer, believes Johnson County has been making strides to help the unhoused in the community.
