A Maple City resident faces attempted murder and other felony charges in connection with a shooting Saturday night on Rockwell Street.

Police said Michael E. Bloom, 33, of 128 River St., Hornell, was arrested following an investigation and charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree criminal use of a firearm, first-degree criminal contempt, along with reckless endangerment and weapon counts.

Hornell police said they responded shortly after 10 p.m. to the shooting report. An investigation determined three or four small caliber shots were fired from a vehicle parked on Hart Street toward the rear of a Rockwell Street residence.

Police said the shots were fired in the direction of a person on the rear porch of the residence.

No one was injured, authorities said.

A parked care was struck and damaged, police said, and according to witnesses, the vehicle involved in the shooting fled the scene.

Bloom was located and taken into custody without incident, police said.
