SPENCER, Iowa (KCAU) — A local amusement park helped raise funds to help impacted residents of Spencer with some groovy music on Sunday.

The Spencer Flood Relief Music Festival, hosted by Arnolds Park Amusement Park, brought four local bands together for people to enjoy.

While the event itself was free to the public, the goal of the event was to help raise funds for those in Spencer that have been impacted by the flood. Donations during the event were entirely optional.

Arnolds Park officials said that they couldn’t stand by and not help their neighbors.

“It’s the right thing to do. It’s neighbors helping neighbors is how we’ve dubbed the day,” said Arnolds Park CEO Jon Pausley. “So, the Pearson Lake Art Center and us said, how can we come together and be able to do something that just is tangibly beneficial and fund and we just feel like it’s the right thing to do.”

The goal for the concert was to raise $50,000 for those in need which will go directly towards the Spencer Chamber Foundation.
