POCATELLO — A 38-year-old local man was recently arrested after police say punched a woman over 20 times after refusing to return the phone he borrowed from her. IDAHO FALLS — A man charged with murder has withdrawn his guilty plea, and the state has refiled for the death penalty following new felony charges. Lance Broncho, 23, was recently charged with three counts of felony assault or battery upon certain personnel and felony introducing major contraband to a correctional facility.
Wildfire near Salmon grows over 2,000 acres
SALMON — A fire burning near a lake has reached over 2,000 acres. The “Thunder Fire” is burning sage, grass, and fir. According to the U.S. Forest Service-Salmon-Challis National Forest, the fire is approximately two miles northwest of Williams Lake and about 11 miles southwest of Salmon. It has progressed toward Henry Creek.
