89 traffic violations after DWI checkpoint on Hope Mills Road in Fayetteville
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — The Fayetteville Police Department said that several people were charged after a DWI checkpoint on Hope Mills Road on Wednesday in Fayetteville. Police said that a total of 89 traffic and criminal citations were issued at the checkpoint. 22 people were charged with driving while license revoked, six people were charged with driving while impaired, one person was charged with felony possession of fentanyl, and one person was charged with possession of firearm by felon.

MOUNT AIRY, N.C. — A man was found dead on the side of the road on Thursday in Mount Airy. The Surry County Sheriff's Office received a call around 12:24 p.m. regarding a man lying on the side of the road not breathing. When arriving on the scene, deputies found him with an apparent gunshot wound.
