Big Reds Baseball Youth Camp makes its return to Vienna
VIENNA, W.Va. (WTAP) - The Parkersburg baseball team held the final day of the Big Reds Baseball Youth Camp at Jackson Park Ballfields in Vienna. Over 100 kids in ages five through 12 registered for camp. PHS coaches and players helped the kids learn fundamentals of baseball. They capped off the event with the players signing baseballs to hand out to each of the kids. Head coach Alan Burns was excited to be back hosting camp and seeing the young baseball players grow.

Seven former West Virginia basketball players participated in the NBA Summer League this month. Let’s take a look how each player did with their teams. Battle received an invitation to summer league from the Hornets following the NBA draft. Battle is now fighting for a two-way contract. It's about that time again, which is crazy because it feels like just yesterday I was writing the spring camp previews. Back then, football preparation was taking a backseat to the pending basketball coaching search. This time around, fall camp will be in the spotlight of the WVU sports world. Today we continue the position-by-position preview for preseason camp. The Mountaineers went 9-4 last season, including beating up on UNC in a bowl game that ended with Neal Brown being covered in mayonnaise. West Virginia football enters the 2024 season with significant wind in its sails, so fall camp should be particularly interesting to watch next month. At this current time, there is no media access schedule.
Lake County, IL – Crash Saturday Near I-94 Results in Critical Injuries
Newport Township, IL – A serious traffic crash occurred in Newport Township on Saturday morning, leaving one passenger critically injured. According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 10:15 a.m. at Russell Road and Frontage Road near I-94. A Chrysler 300, driven by a 21-year-old Zion man, collided with a Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by a 27-year-old Schaumburg man, as the Mitsubishi attempted a U-turn.
