SCHS Wildcat Basketball Camp Starts Monday
Monday is the start of the SCHS Wildcat Basketball Camp. Registration cost is $45 and campers will learn from lecture instruction, fundamental skills and competitive games under Wildcats head coach Pete Colclasure along with Wildcat players and staff. Boys entering 3,4,5 grades will go daily from 10-11:30 with 6-8th graders going from 12-2. Walk in sign up swill be accepted on the first day of camp.
Thornton native wins Mrs. Agriculture USA 2024
THORNTON W.Va – After representing West Virginia for a year, Taylor County native Grace Austin-Trboyevich was named Mrs. Agriculture USA 2024. Miss Agriculture USA, a national nonprofit organization, runs through all 50 states, inviting all ages from two years old and beyond. Austin-Trboyevich started her journey with the organization by applying to be West Virginia’s queen in 2023.

Local leader looks to restore triage funding in Morgantown
MORGANTOWN, W, Va. — The effort to reopen the triage shelter in Morgantown is moving forward on several fronts and appears to be gaining traction. On WAJRS ‘Talk of the Town,” Monongalia County Commissioner Tom Bloom said he had just learned that $167,500 that was pulled from Bartlett Housing Solutions earlier this year could be redirected to Catholic Charities West Virginia. Oliverios has been in talks with the governor’s office about reinstating the funding, and when Catholic Charities came on board, a tentative decision was made to allocate the money for the Morgantown triage shelter.
