Springfield Booster Club Golf Tournament a success

A 42-year-old man from Bellow Falls, Vermont, will remain in federal custody following a crime spree involving crack cocaine in Springfield and Putney. Stephen Loewe faces federal charges after allegedly committing a burglary at a Springfield store and demanding cash at two banks in the area. He reportedly stole a car from a gas station and attempted to rob another bank in Putney the following day. If convicted of bank robbery, Loewe could face 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000, along with potential state charges for burglary and vehicle theft.
Former Bedford Substitute Teacher Arrested
A former substitute teacher in Bedford has been arrested and charged with possession of child sex abuse images. Concord police said 31-year-old Jonathan Harrison was arrested Monday after a monthslong investigation. Police said they learned that Harrison was working as a camp counselor in Maine. Concord and Maine State Police questioned Harrison at the camp, and police said he eventually admitted to downloading the images. School officials said Harrison was placed on unpaid leave and will not be returning to work in the district. The district said there’s no reason to believe any of the images were of children in Bedford schools. Police said they believe the images were sourced from the dark web.

Bernardston Firefighter commended for assistance while off-duty
BERNARDSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A Bernardston firefighter has been commended for his efforts and initiative in a mental health situation last month. On July 25th, firefighter Jeffrey Guy was off-duty but when he saw a police officer restraining an individual attempting to jump into traffic, Guy stopped and offered his assistance. Eventually, with the hel of two other officers and three paramedics, the situation was under control and the individual was transported for treatment.
