Man involved in shooting in Spokane Valley has not been found

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - Spokane Valley Deputies said they haven't found the man involved in a shooting near E. Sprague and S. Conklin, Tuesday night.

Deputies responded to the original call from the victim at around 9:45 p.m.

They were told that a man approached the victim and her two children that were inside a car in a parking lot. Officers said they learned the man pulled out a pistol and shot at the woman, hitting the driver's side window.

Officers said the woman had minor injuries to her head which was most likely caused by flying glass when the suspect shot the window of her car. The kids were uninjured.

The woman drove to a safer location to call 9-1-1 and the suspect left the scene.

Later, deputies located the truck that was believed to be used by the suspect to leave the scene at a home on E. Valleyway Ave. and they established a perimeter.

Officers said due to the violent actions and criminal history of the suspect, SWAT and crisis negotiators were called to assist deputies and Major Crimes Detectives.

SWAT entered the home but the man was not inside.

This is still an active investigation.
