Here's what Spokane service closures to expect this Independence Day

SPOKANE, Wash. - With Fourth of July happening this week, the City of Spokane says to expect some closures of certain services.

According to the city, garbage, recycling, and yard waste services will be a day later than usual after the Fourth of July holiday. Normal Friday services will take place Saturday.

City Hall and the municipal court will also be closed Thursday.

Paid parking meters and kiosks will also not require payments on the holiday, though all parking rules still apply.

While the city's six aquatics centers will be closed on Independence Day, splash pads and golf courses will remain open.

The City of Spokane Fire Department wants to remind you that the sale and use of fireworks is illegal in most of Spokane County. This applies to sparklers as well.
